Stephanie + Chris wed last night, a beautiful evening in Oxford at Boulder Pointe Golf Club. The sky was filled with fabulous clouds and made for amazing images. Here’s a sneak peak from our day with this sweet couple.

My intentions to blog frequently are often held back by the timely processing of images, soooo I thought I would create some new life on the 405 Blog by offering {Adoration} = fab things I’ve run across and {Ready Set Go} = a series of sales and contests for my clients and followers… so here we go…
While reading Inside Weddings I came across this Totally Cute idea… SoleMates! Check out this great accessory for brides/maids or even wedding guests…

Gonca (Grace) is simply sweet, knows exactly what she wants and is totally head over heels for her man. Scott is so nice, a great guy with an amazing smile. When you put Grace & Scott together their energy and connection with each other will make anyone melt.
The Highland Suite at Rochester’s Royal Park Hotel was buzzing with activity upon our arrival on May 8th, 2010. The makeup artist, Michele Palmer, and hairstylist were busy at work as bridesmaids laughed and chatted with each other. As we went into the bedroom we found Grace’s stunning Monique Lhuillier wedding gown hanging on the door. My favorite start to a wedding day is getting my hands on a brides dress, shoes and accessories. I love seeing how well the wedding day details always represents a bride’s personality and style!
As I wrapped up photographing Grace getting ready and a few bridal images in the suite, my hubbie Steve (+ second shooter) was downstairs with the groomsmen prepping Scott for the first look moment. Since Grace and Scott were having their ceremony and reception back to back, we offered a first look moment with the two of them earlier in the day to allow the couple more time to spend together and additional oportunities for photographs.
A stunning Grace softly approached Scott, tapped him on the shoulder and he turned around. With two big smiles they hugged each other then Scott backed away to take in Grace’s beauty. That was an amazing start to a fabulous wedding.
The bridal party joined us for pictures around the Royal Park Hotel, adding humor and fun to the day. Besides a little wind, blue skies and amazing weather blessed them that day and allowed us to capture some killer images!
A special thanks to the amazing work of Emerald City Design for the fabulous flowers, ceremony and reception decor. Plus Angela Butorac was awesome to work with as the couples day of wedding coordinator, she is so sweet and does a fabulous job ensuring wedding days are flawless.

Courtney came to us this spring for her senior portraits… and I’m so glad she did… this fabulous girl is beautiful on the inside and out. I had a great time hanging out with her while we photographed at an urban scene, the park and ended at the beach.

This spring I photographed an amazing family, courtesy of an introduction by the lovely Molly Myers of Paisley Quill. Their custom session took place at their home in Waterford where I was able to capture cutie Irelinn + her big brother Aiden playing in the yard (aren’t those names adorable). Irelinn took a bit of warming up in front of the camera, while Aiden welcomed me right in to show off his dinosaurs and trains. What a beautiful + fun family to spend an evening with.

It’s always exciting to photograph people that I have history with. Derek has been a good friend of Steve’s for a long time, as they played sports together and we all went to the same high school. When Derek started dating Becky a few years ago I instantly knew she was someone I would love to be friends with. So when Derek popped the questions back in October at the Detroit Marathon (you may remember the post from there http://www.studio405blog.com/2009/10/25/she-said-yes/) I was thrilled to know I would be able to document all these special moments in their lives.
The date we photographed their engagement session happed to be one of the hottest and most humid days in May, but Derek + Becky rocked it out and brought their A game. We explored downtown Royal Oak, shooting in their great alleys and main streets, I just love it there! Amazing engagement sessions only happen when couples are super comfortable with each other, allowing photographers to capture and create natural, fashionable and artistic images. Below will give a sneak peak into our amazing evening and what a great couple they are!

One of my fav things to do on beautiful spring and summer evenings is photographing engagement session and family sessions… so it was super exciting to combine the two and photograph baby Kenzie and her fabulous parents Ryan + Lauren. Although Kenzie was a little hesitant, she quickly warmed up with a walk around Heritage Park in Taylor. She just turned one and is sooo sweet with that bright red hair!
We followed the mini-family session by photographing Lauren + Ryan’s esession at the park too. They are one of the nicest people I’ve ever had the honor of knowing and their smiles are contagious. I even tried having them act out some “serious” images and they were only able to pull off one, because Lauren was full on laughs and couldn’t keep a straight face!!! Too cute!!! I’m super psyched for their wedding in September at Crystal Gardens

Jolie & Matthew came into the studio this spring for their First Communion portraits and they were so much fun! This adorable pair kept me laughing the entire shoot and were naturals in front of the camera
